Ford Motor Co. has some hot news to share with some of its car owners. Unfortunately, it is no laughing matter. Ford and Lincoln are recalling some 18,000 sport utility vehicles over the risk of engine fires if the cars are involved in crashes. A fuel filler pipe vapor line connector defect is to blame for the safety hazard, Ford recently told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Kia is playing catch-up in the race to pull the plug on gas-powered vehicles. The company recently announced that it is planning to build two electric pickup trucks. They are part of a fleet of 14 new electric vehicle models that the Korean carmaker says it will roll out by 2027.

Mercedes-Benz has announced two new recalls of the 2022 EQS, the company’s flagship electric vehicle that hit the U.S. last year. Tesla has another recall on its hands. The luxury electric vehicle manufacturer is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles, Reuters reports. Tesla told federal regulators that pedestrians may not be able to hear required sounds of approaching cars.
