Range Rover SUVs Recalled for Rear Frame Cracks

» Posted October 12, 2026 • Resources | Share This Post

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling nearly 900 Range Rover Sport SUVs, warning that the vehicles’ rear subframes may have been built with cracks.

“A crack on the rear subframe can compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle and can increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash,” the automaker said in a recall notice.

The recall covers Range Rover Sport SUVs from model years 2024 to 2026, built at the company’s U.K. plant in Solihull, JLR said.

“In addition, over time a crack could propagate and cause a deterioration in design strength,” the company said in the notice, filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. “This could lead to the increased risk of a crash.”

The rear subframe helps anchor a vehicle’s rear suspension. JLR began investigating in June, after a supplier noticed cracking. It traced the problem to a supplier’s casting process. JLR said it is not aware of any warranty claims or reports of accidents or injuries tied to the defect.

Owners of recalled Range Rovers will be notified via mail by November 20, the automaker told NHTSA. Range Rover drivers can also check the NHTSA website to see if their SUVs are included in the recall. JLR will ask owners to bring their vehicles to authorized service providers for inspection and repair.

The automaker said it has taken steps to ensure that newer vehicles are not affected. “The issue was cut off in supplier production in June 2026 following improvements to the end-of-line quality checking processes, including high-resolution imagery,” JLR said.

Know Your Lemon Law Rights

This is not the only safety issue for JLR and its drivers.

The company recently announced it is recalling more than 170,000 vehicles because they risk shutting down unexpectedly, for example. The cars, including certain Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs, have potentially faulty DC-DC converters, JLR said.

There is some good news for Range Rover drivers, at least those who live in California. The state’s lemon law lets you force the company to fix or buy back your car without waiting for a recall.

The lemon law, known formally as the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, requires carmakers to perform a wide range of repairs on vehicles while they are under warranty. It also requires auto manufacturers to buy back (or replace, in some cases) covered vehicles they cannot repair or refuse to fix. That includes compensating the owner for the purchase price, as well as financing fees, rental car costs, and other related expenses.

Hear What Our Clients Have To Say

"I was blown away at how fast the settlement wrapped up. I was told about 8 months to a year for success, but Brian Wagner and his supporting team did a fantastic job, perhaps 6 months ahead of schedule. From my initial consultation with Erika, her assessment of my case, including the assigning of Mr. Wagner as counsel, the stress reducing assurance of paralegal Andy Kim, and the personable approach of Melanie, who eased my anxiety with her confidence and support in reception of my calls. Great job team!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
